For ladies, weekly clinics are available on Tuesday and Thursday, from 9-10:30am. Cardio tennis works up the heart rate for an early-morning exercise from 7:30-9am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Both men and women enjoy group clinics and drills targeted towards their specific needs and league seasons.
Offering USTA leagues throughout the year, Mission Inn produces two ladies’ teams and one men’s team each season.
Private lessons, as well a group lessons are available with any of the four full time teaching professionals. You can also secure your own court time online or over the phone with rates set at $10/person/hour for resort guests to utilize the clay courts.

On Saturdays from 9-11:30am, a monthly Round Robin Mixer entices a friendly battle on the clay. For juniors, a program for 5-9 year olds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5-6pm introduces the game though fun and encouraging games and drills. For beginner and intermediate yellow ball players, a clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm highlights important aspects of the game while still creating an energetic environment. Elite training from Monday-Friday from 3:30-6pm brings out the competitive juniors who yearn to reach their highest potential.
Cesar Villarroel, Mission Inn’s Tennis Director, holds an incredible tennis background of over 20 years that has seen the likes of ITF, WTA and ATP players. Villarroel is a Level One USPTA & USPTR instructor, certified through the National Endurance Fitness Training Association, listed among the Top 100 Tennis Coaches in the USA by Peterson’s Tennis Camps and Clinics, and a member of the Wilson and Adidas Tennis Advisory Staffs. His recent coaching background includes partnering with Justine Henin and her former coach Carlos Rodriguez to form Six Sense Tennis Academy, where Monica Puig, 2016 gold medal champion, trained. With brilliant success, Cesar turned this academy into the Cesar Villarroel Tennis Academy just over five years ago and sees players from around the country and the world travel to Howey in the Hills. Options include weeklong or monthly training or a full-time academy with on-site boarding in the luxurious condos near the Mission Inn Resort. If you’re striving for a tennis scholarship to college or have your sights set on a future on the pro circuit, this academy fulfills those aspirations, and an evaluation could take place in the near future should you show interest HERE. Training includes on and off court work, including nutrition assistance and fitness and agility programs. As a boutique academy, according to Villarroel, he specializes his training to a select amount of players that truly have the passion and drive to become the best they can.
Summer Camps encourage juniors of all ages to attend the tennis clinics at Mission Inn.
