Situated on Key Biscayne, a stretch of secluded paradise away from the hustle and bustle that is Miami, this center guarantees a tennis session free of distraction. Enroll in series of lessons and clinics or drop by during your down time to test out the type of drill that suites your skills. From new players to traveling professionals, Crandon Park can accommodate your game and test your tactics to the perfect extent.

Day in and day out, the Cliff Drysdale teaching staff guarantees the same quality of tennis at this public center that you’d partake in at any of their other public, private or resort venues. For juniors and adults, you’ll have the widest variety of programs available in the city at this completely public venue, provided by Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation. With events like the Junior Orange Bowl in December, USTA L1 events, and the renowned Miami Open, Frederico Goncalves, Tennis Director, continually surpasses guests’ expectations and provides a wealth of opportunities pre and post tournament. After the tournaments, the most well-attended events each year occur in the summer. Junior camps see well over 600 in attendance, as campers travel anywhere from overseas to just over the Rickenbacker Causeway. For locals or first-time guests, these camps combine all aspects of the game with a competitive atmosphere. Juniors ages 7-17 will develop their skills in the morning before parting in live ball drills and match-play after lunch. The schedule for full-day is 9am-3pm, and half days are 9am-12pm. Rounding out the week on Thursday is an engaging round robin tournament where every game matters towards your final score. On Friday morning, the finals of the tournament take place before leading into off-court games, competitions and celebrations. Camp awards celebrate talent, sportsmanship and improvement, creating a fun yet highly competitive and instructional environment that leaves campers wishing they booked more time in Miami. Generations of players are seen every year from places like Venezuela, Peru, Columbia, Europe, and all over the U.S. Special events like these camps will be listed HERE.

For juniors traveling during other seasons, the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Academy and Rising Stars Junior Program guide players of all skill-sets and ages through the proper training to maximize potential. Whether it’s familiarizing your child with the basics or working to take their game to that next level, these two programs can offer just that. For the Academy, juniors will be able to train at Crandon Park and compete monthly against other local clubs, creating a team environment around this individual sport. For the junior program, players can enhance their fundamentals and work towards competing at the tournament level. The Junior Tournament Series, offered at all surrounding Cliff Drysdale locations, offers a great alternative to the grind of weekend or week-long tournaments. Schedules for both programs are listed below:

  • Tennis Academy (ages 10 and above): Monday-Friday: 5-7pm
  • Rising Stars (ages 4-8):Monday-Thursday: 4:15-5:15pm

(Daily: $25; 1 day/week/month: $85; 2 days/week/month: $175; 3 days/week/month: $260; 4 days/week/month: $300)

Adults have their very own taste of tennis in Key Biscayne through the available programming and league play opportunities. Hosting an average of six teams per season for USTA leagues, you’ll be able to dive into any available team from ladies to men to mixed and their appropriate group drills as well. For weekly clinics throughout the year, Crandon Park schedules clinics every day of the week for all levels at several different hours. An Adult Ladder is divided by level and creates an opportunity to test your tactics.

Tennis 101, a four week program for beginners, ranges from $20/class or $70/4 weeks and can familiarize you with the basics of tennis as well as your peers for an enjoyable and energetic fitness alternative! Classes for Tennis 101 are Tuesdays/Thursdays from 10-11am, Wednesdays from 7-8pm and Saturdays from 10:30-11:30am, allowing you the flexibility to work around your already busy schedule. Adults with more developed skills can participate in any of the following drills:

  • Morning Clinics: 9-10:30am; $25
    • Fridays: Beginners
    • Wednesdays: Intermediate
  • Morning Round Robin: Thursdays 9-11am; $25
  • Evening Clinics: 7-8:30pm; $25;
    • Mondays/Wednesdays: Beginners
    • Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays: Intermediate/Advanced

Visiting the public center is possible at any time of the year, and those rates for court time are listed below:

  • Hard Court (Day): $4 adults (18+); $3 juniors (Under 18)
  • Hard Count (Night): $6 adults; $4 juniors
  • Clay Court (Day): $7 adults; $3 juniors
  • Clay Court (Night): $9 adults; $4 juniors
  • Stadium: $13 adults; $10 juniors
