Playing host to over 35 events annually, Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center completely encompasses what every tennis player searches for among facilities.
Situated on abundant acreage, right off of Interstate 77, Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center allows visitors, residents and competitors to experience an establishment in a league of its own. With 30 hard courts total, including seven specific 36-foot courts, this facility knows the ins-and-outs of hosting tournaments, league matches, camps, clinics and so much more. Their customer service and knowledge of the game will leave a lasting impression that will make you want to visit again and again.
Being a public facility on its own bank of property, Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center can envision the expansion and see the potential of the surrounding area. A new Marriot Courtyard Hotel within walking distance of the facility will offer speciality rates to visitors and competitors by the beginning of 2017. With a fully-staffed pro shop, stadium court, upstairs and lower viewing, conference room, and stocked canteen, Cayce truly offers what any tournament facility should. Jorge Andrew, Director of Operations, acknowledged that Cayce prides itself on outstanding customer service, professionally-run tournaments, fantastic event-experiences, enjoyable player parties and amenities, and an overall well-organized facility. Whether it’s finding a spare doubles partner, coordinating practice matches or offering off-court extra activities between matches, you won’t be disappointed during your time at Cayce.
Four full-time teaching professionals serve the public throughout every day of the year with adult clinics, junior programs, summer camps, adult beginner- improvement lessons, private lessons, and junior team tennis matches. Nine summer camps range during June-August either in the morning or early evening to ensure a satisfying experience for all involved; a Slip ‘n Slide may even make its appearance to cool off campers! Cayce provides other seasonal clinics for all levels, all year long, such as adult league practices and red, orange, green and yellow programs for juniors. Along with first-class tennis courts, Cayce also utilizes their upstairs 1,200 ft. conference room and catering kitchen for Officials Workshops, USPTA annual workshops, a meeting space, wedding receptions, or simply a place to cool off or check-in for larger tournaments. To plan your next event, affordable rental rates are available for the conference room. Inside, you can find a Canteen offering snacks and drinks and a pro-shop boasting brands like HEAD, Adidas, Sofibella and beyond; shop among the finest rackets, grips, strings and clothing. Just across the hall, Cayce’s fitness center focuses on providing top-of-the-line equipment and machines for its users. You can certainly target your desired routine with the 21 cardio machines, 11 various workout machines, dumb bells and benches. For $175/year, you can enjoy the fitness center, towels, lockers and showers any time you like.
Booking court time at Cayce can be done in person or via phone. Daily fees varies from $4-$5 per person for two hours of court time, depending on time-of-day; $1 less per person for doubles play. If you feel that Cayce may be the facility for you, they offer a frequent user rate for leagues and court time, in which you pay a certain rate and can book free court time and forfeit your league fees. Definitely something to check out if you intend to frequent the area!
The stadium court, with an approximate 500-person viewing area, has been home to local, sectional and national events, including the Big East Conference Championship for men and women in May. After winning the bid for 2016, Cayce will host the 2017 championships as well for all eight men’s teams and all ten women’s teams in the conference. Other premier tournaments include high school team championships, the Special Olympics State Tournament, the USTA National Junior Team Tennis Championships for 14U and 18U, and other yearly junior and adult tournaments and matches. Search for these tournaments HERE.
Needless to say, Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center distinguishes themselves by the staff’s willingness to accommodate and serve. Right across 12th St. Ext., about two minutes from Cayce, you can find SCANA’s headquarters, the largest employer in South Carolina. SCANA only plans to expand in upcoming years, so a multitude of shopping, restaurants, more courts and hotels should be in the works in the near future. Within 10 miles, you can also find Lexington County Tennis Complex, owned and operated by the same Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission. Check out their facility HERE if you are ever near their location as well.
